Community Foundation Board Grows from 12 to 18 members

The Outer Banks Community Foundation has expanded its board size from 12 to 18 members in an effort to increase its capacity to serve the Outer Banks and engage more of the community in its work.

A full list of the current board can be found here. Here are brief bios for each our newest board members:

Cathy Baldwin owns Access Media Group with her husband, Adam, an Outer Banks business they established in 2001. The company includes the North Beach Sun, Access Design and Print, and waterproofmenu.com. Cathy and Adam live in Kill Devil Hills with their two children.

Jeff Dowdy, CPA is partner at Dowdy Osborne, LLP, Certified Public Accountants. Jeff grew up in Currituck; he has practiced public accounting since 1991. Jeff serves on the Outer Banks Boatbuilders Foundation board.  He and his wife Angela live in Manteo; they have two grown children.

Frank Hester has worked for the National Park Service as Engineering Technician since 2008. He has served on several Dare County boards; currently he is on the Dare County School Board. Frank and his wife Lynda live on Roanoke Island; they have three daughters and five grandchildren.

Tess Judge is a Hospitality Management professional with a heart for community involvement. Tess is actively engaged in numerous volunteer and community activities, including serving on the Executive Council of the National Episcopal Church.

Robin Mann is Chief Financial Officer of Mann Custom Boats. She has helped start several local nonprofit organizations here and has served on the boards of many more, including the Boat Builders Foundation. Robin lives in Manns Harbor with her husband Paul; they have four children and nine grandchildren.

Ronnie Sloan is CEO of Outer Banks Health, a position he has held since 2011. He is active on several boards, including the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce, NC Aquarium, Community Care Clinic of Dare, and Healthy Carolinians of the Outer Banks. Ronnie lives in Manteo with his wife, Billie Jo.

Sarah Spencer is President and Principal Broker of Spencer Realty Services with Keller Williams on the Outer Banks. She launched her real estate career in the late 1990’s in Duck, NC. Sarah lives in Kitty Hawk with her husband, Matt, and their three daughters.
