The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau and the Outer Banks Community Foundation co-hosted the 4th Annual Nonprofit Knowledge Series Workshop – “Purpose and Nonprofit Thriving” – on September 25 at the Coastal Studies Institute in Wanchese.
The full day event, which was sponsored by Outer Banks Health, was facilitated by Melissa Le Roy, founder of On Fire Nonprofit Consulting and a Duke University nonprofit management instructor.
Thank you to the 60+ local nonprofit professionals, board members and volunteers who participated.
Learning outcomes included:
- Clarifying personal purpose and connect it to nonprofit mission
- Identifying governance practices that support thriving boards, staff and volunteers
- Reframing fundraising as a purpose-driven invitation to invest in impact
- Applying practical nourishment, movement and balance strategies to sustain service
- Creating an action plan for strengthening purpose, engagement and organizational thriving
