OBCF 101-14- Applying For Scholarships

In an effort to better connect with our community and educate people about all of the unique facets of the Community Foundation, we have created OBCF 101.

It is college application season, which means that it is almost time for scholarship season! For OBCF 101-14, we are going to give you all of the important details that will prepare you to apply for an OBCF scholarship.

The Outer Banks Community Foundation manages over 80 scholarships for Dare, Currituck, and Ocracoke students, and you can apply for them all in one place- our website! It’s EASY!

Who are OBCF’s scholarships for? Everyone, including graduating seniors, Dare Guarantee graduates, and people interested in furthering their education, including no-traditional students and those attending the College of The Albemarle.

How to get prepared? Gather the information that you will need to apply. For most applicants, that will include your transcripts, a great essay, a FASFA submission summary, and any documents to showcase your skills and talents, including recommendation letters, awards, recognitions, and/or photos of your favorite projects.
