Remembering Perry White

L-R- Kaye and Perry White at OBCF’s Legacy Society Luncheon in 2023.
Everyone at the Outer Banks Community Foundation would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family of Peregrine Barclay “Perry” White.
Perry and Kaye White have supported the Community Foundation since 2008, and they have been members of our Legacy Society since 2013.
After retiring to the Outer Banks in 1998, Perry dedicated his time and energy giving back to our community. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Nags Head Fire Department for over ten years. He served as President of the Republican party for Dare County and on the Roanoke Island Commission for many years. Perry was a member of both the Outer Banks Senior Chorus and the choir at All Saints Episcopal Church, and he did lighting and sound for the Theatre of Dare and the Outer Banks Forum for several years. He was a Life Time Member of the First Flight Society, serving as a Board Member and as a Committee Member for the First Flight Centennial Board as they planned the 100 years of flight celebration in 2003. Perry was a member of the OBX Ham Radio Club. He also served as a long-term member of the Order of St. Luke, a healing ministry and served on the Healing Ministry Committee at All Saints Episcopal Church.
To honor his life and legacy, Perry’s family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Peregrine & Kaye White Fund at the Outer Banks Community Foundation. Donations will be used to award grants to nonprofits in our community. You can make a donation by clicking here.
The family invites all to visit with them at Gallop Funeral Chapel in Nags Head on December 12, 2025 from 2 pm to 4 pm, and for a celebration of Perry’s life at All Saints Episcopal Church in Southern Shores on December 13, 2025 at 11 am with The Rev. Tommy Drake officiating. You can read more about Perry’s life in his obituary.
