A Successful Fundraising Fundamentals Workshop

On September 27th, 34 nonprofit leaders from 20 different organizations gathered at the College of The Albemarle for an engaging and informative session on fundraising, led by expert Deborah Breen of Sound Choice Consulting.

Participants explored key strategies for transforming their fundraising efforts and connecting more meaningfully with donors.

Deborah’s insights into creating comprehensive fundraising plans, aligning organizational missions, and nurturing donor relationships resonated deeply with attendees. As one participant noted, “This workshop was very informative, the speaker was wonderful, and I can’t wait until the next one.”

This workshop was part of the 2024 Nonprofit Knowledge Series, organized in partnership by the Outer Banks Community Foundation and the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau.

“The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau is proud to co-sponsor this series with the Outer Banks Community Foundation,” said Executive Director of the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau Lee Nettles. “Just seeing the energy of our local nonprofits and how they interacted with Deborah was a great reminder that we’re stronger working together. The Bureau’s work with local nonprofits is part of a longer range plan that steers the power of tourism into tangible and immediate good within our community.”

The Outer Banks Community Foundation and the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau are always looking for ways to support the vital work nonprofits are doing in the community. Stay tuned for information on the next Nonprofit Knowledge Series Workshop.
